Fix Error 1022 JET errDiskIO in Microsoft Exchange Server
The Error 1022 JET errDiskIO usually occurs due to disk input/output failure. So, whenever the Exchange Server requests for the database page but due to some reason the operating system is unable to get the access to that particular page and the error occurs. In this case, Server will make a request for a page number which is greater than the number of pages in that database file. This error can also occur if some incomplete transaction log set is being replayed in the database. For instance, if a transaction is running on log 9 but the transaction could not be completed because it might have exceeded the database size but after that, the page reference size has now been added to log 10. Because of this, it leads to the error 1022.
Reasons why Error 1022 JET errDiskIO Occurs?
The reasons why the problem occurs are as follows:
1. Damaged file system or some other issues related to the file system.
2. Some important missing file elements.
3. Corrupted/damaged database file.
4. An improper replay of the transaction log.
5. Important elements of the file are truncated.
6. Other third-party tools which block the Information Store Service to access the data.
7. Applications being opened in the background do not allow the Exchange Server to access them.
Solutions to fix the Error 1022 JET errDiskIO
The solutions to fix the issue depends on and vary according to the causing factor of the error:
1. If there is no updated backup of the database. In that case, administrators need to repair the entire corrupted data. For that, the users can use the utility Eseutil.exe in order to find out the errors in the database at the page or file level. In addition, this utility is also useful to repair the corrupted Exchange Server database file.
2. If the error occurs because of the damaged/corrupted file or the entire file system. Then, in that case, users must restore the database using the backup or repair and verify the entire file system.
3. If the Error 1022 JET errDiskIO occurs due to the other applications which are opening Exchange database pages which do not let Server to access that database. In this case, try to restart all the running Exchange Server services or rather restart the entire Exchange Server.
4. Any third-party tool which might be preventing the Information Store Service to access the Exchange Server database.

The error 1022 JET errDiskIO is an error which generally occurs when the database gets corrupted or transaction log is different. Also, due to the other third-party software being run in the background cause EDB database file to not access the Information Store Services. If sometimes the antivirus installed on the user's computer system do not allow to access information stored in EDB. Then, in that case, the users should turn off the antivirus that is running currently in the background. In order, top avoid such problems further on.
